Objective:

Define the foundation for Project E.L.A. v0.1 — the first embodiment where intelligence begins to meet structure.

Materials Selected:

  • Core Compute: NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX (local AI brain)

  • Storage: NVMe SSD (high-speed, expandable memory)

  • Vision: Luxonis Oak-D Pro (real-time depth camera on pan/tilt mount)

  • Hearing: Seeed ReSpeaker mic array (spatial audio, interactive voice)

  • Audio Output: DAC for speech clarity

  • Structure: goBilda modular pylon ("the Coat")

  • Power: Dedicated regulated supply with UBEC

Planned Procedure (Next Steps):

  1. Receive and inventory structural and electronic components.

  2. Assemble pylon frame and confirm dimensional accuracy.

  3. Mount Jetson Orin NX and SSD; format and flash system.

  4. Route cabling through Coat for clean power and signal management.

  5. Integrate Luxonis and ReSpeaker for first sensory/response tests.

Notes & Observations:

  • Final pylon depth recalculated at 108mm after correcting for spacer size.

  • Website and YouTube channel are live to share progress.

Conclusion:

E.L.A. v0.1 is not the destination but the launchpad — a foundation to evolve into advanced motion, interaction, and autonomy in future builds.
